Numbers Don't Tell the Story

From a client at Women’s Huron Valley: "The prison has the audacity to report that we are at the lowest number in three decades, glossing over the fact that many prisons were housing more than triple or quadruple the population they were designed and built to house. Here at WHV we have about 1,000 women still double-bunked in cells designed and built for only one prisoner. They did pull most of the women out of the multi-bunk rooms set up in old closets, offices and dayrooms. Still, “social distancing” is all but impossible!"
